Check out these genius food hacks you’ll want to remember for your next getaway:
Cinnamon Bun
It doesn’t get any easier than this: purchase (or make) some cinnamon buns ahead of time. Bring some skewers. Roast the buns on the skewers over your campfire and they’ll be gooey and delicious in no time.
Pre-Cracked Eggs
Before you leave, crack a dozen or so eggs and store them in a plastic bottle. You won’t have to worry about them breaking, you’ll save space, and they’ll be all scrambled up and ready to cook.
Campfire French Toast
A breakfast favorite made campfire simple. Get the recipe here.
Quick & Easy Spinach Dip
We’ll let the video speak for itself:
BYO Pancake Batter
Make the batter ahead of time, using your go-to recipe. Then, pack it up in a reusable sandwich bag or water bottle. When you’re ready to whip up some breakfast, just pipe your pancakes right onto your camping stove.
Next-Level Roasted Marshmallows
Very simple, very delicious. First, you roast your marshmallows. Then, dip it in some Baileys (be sure to follow the steps in that order).
Level Up Your S’mores
Stuff some chocolate, marshmallows, peanut butter cups and any other sweet toppings or nuts into in an ice-cream cone. Wrap the cone up in foil, and roast over your campfire for 5 mins. Pure yum.
Healthy Campfire Snacks
We can’t eat roasted marshmallows for every meal. Check out these healthier options – and don’t put the tinfoil away yet:
Just the Right Amount of Spice
Pack the spices you’ll need in Tic-Tac containers. Less waste and easy to pack.
Water Bottle Ice Packs
Freeze a bunch of water bottles ahead of time and store in a cooler. You’ll not only have ice and cooling devices readily available, but you’ll have drinking water as they melt, too.
Jalapeño Popper Dip
You can even prep this ahead of time so it’s ready to go straight over the fire. Get the recipe here.
DIY Candles
Keep your campsite smelling fresh. All you need is an orange peel, olive oil and a lighter or matches. Quick tutorial here.
Pigs in a Blanket
Fan favorite and no oven needed. You can even do the (already minimal) prep ahead of time – check it out here.
