Going strong into its 21st running, the annual Santa Slopes was this weekend in Maine.

The event has been a charity fundraiser since its inception and has gained more steam, and national attention, in recent years. This year the event featured more than 300 Santa-clad partiticpants at the Sunday River Ski Resort. Reports from the Associated Press say that a skiing Grinch and a skiing Christmas tree also hit the slopes.

Local reports indicate that it was a success though the weather tried to be uncooperative.

“The snow-making machines at Sunday River produced enough of the fluffy stuff for the annual tradition,” the AP wrote. “Santa Sunday has grown in popularity over more than two decades, raising $7,500 this year for a local charity.”

The $7,500 figure is up from $2,500 that it raised in 2018, according to the same outlet.
